A nice day for ships, submarines, and extreme canoists what what?  But skin is waterproof.  So we deferred starting for a bit, drank tea, ate cake, watched rain.  And watched other riders turn up and not even get out of their cars.  Pah.

Then toot toot, let's do a shorter ride due to weather.  Time to ditch the lights everyone had brought, off load a bit of the water we won't be needing, and off we set.

Oooh look, even in rain it's cute in Eskdale

And for the first time in a very long time, we meet a stream that has become too deep to ford.  Time to double back.  But oops, wrong turn - Mick rides through this slight puddle to warn us.

Best take the road for a while - it'll be drier eh?

Time for a snack stop we think.  But hmmm we need shelter think al and simon...

S'ok though.  Thankfully Rich had packed a barn, some oil drums, some bales of hay, 2 caravans, an old bike, some chopped up wood and some corrugated iron in his tardis back pack.

Then he unpacked some clouds

See - not all the puddles were massive?

Now, remember that decision to ditch the lights and water cos we'd shortened the ride and set off late?  Well then, the LESS SOPPY amongst us opted to push on for the bigger route regardless, leaving Si and Rich to mince about in the tea shop eating cakes and drinking more tea.  Pah, lights.  Who needs em eh?

On we go towards Burnmoor Tarn.  Oh look, it's getting a little less light...

And even more so...

We walked through many like this.  Oooh look, even less light.

But we'll hopefully be ok, only got the mental downhill from Burnmoor Tarn to Boot to go.  So long as we don't get any mechanicals......

Pop.....

Doing the mental downhill from Burnmoor Tarn to boot in the rain and dark - very exciting indeed!

Tough dudes ride - camera mashed!  Erm....  Valhalla anyone?

Yeah - that was one fab glorious ride! My bearings and seals loved every minute of it. Can't wait to do it again in even wetter conditions.
Seriously though, excellent route.
I'm amazed you could be arsed to get your camera out. How come it's mashed?

Excellent photo journalism once more!  Gives a little of the general flavour of the day....

Thanks for the trip guys! And for posting up Steve. That last hour was "interesting". Haven't checked to see if my tyre's rotating the right way yet Al. Going to put some bigger ones on for the next ride  Very Happy .
